Welcome to Maccery’s (Thea’s) Art Portfolio! Thea won two Golden Key Awards and one Silver Key Award for her “Transgressions” series of digital artworks, submitted to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, in 2018! (see artworks bellow). She also won three Golden Key Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in 2016, for her digital art submissions entitled: “Hands”, “Narrow” and “Summer.”  She also completed a three week pre-college animation course, in the summer of 2017.

Thea is a Senior in High School and this is her portfolio, which shows her progression of art skills throughout her Sophomore, Junior and Senior years. It’s also where she showcases her animations, check back often to see the latest.

Thea is passionate about Entomology and the Ecosystem Sciences. She has raised an African Mantis, Tobacco Moth, Cat, Dog, Chameleon, Rabbit, Stick Mantis, Anoles, Mouse, Hermit Crabs, Pond Fish, Snails + hatchlings, Pond Frogs and Aquarium Fish. She also cultivates Sedum plants. In addition to raising her home pets, she volunteers at a local park feeding and tending forrest animals (click here to see video) and their display enclosures. She is also completing an arts internship at a local nature center providing drawings and animations of the animals for promotional and educational purposes.
